No, I'm saying cream eggs are gross 'cause they have the consistnency of snot (snot is more viscous than mucus) and I don't like the flavour. So honestly you can have as many as you want as long as you don't eat them in my vicinity, cause even watching them being eaten grosses me out.
I can't handle all these Cadbury Creme Egg blog postings (see Anastasia too)!

Cadbury Creme Eggs are so much more than their consistency. They are also the lovely foil wrapping (which inevitably gets torn and sticky), and delightful ad campaign. An ad campaign that fuelled the basis and justification for bringing my rabbit Juliet to school for show and tell in grade 2; thereby making me the hero for the day, as children are apt to laugh and play more for a rabbit, than a sheep.
In conclusion, Creme Eggs bring joy to small children and support society's healthy admiration of the bunny. Furthermore, the Creme Egg, like the return of migratory birds and the emergence of the crocus, are a herald of Mother Nature shaking the dust of a long winter’s sleep.
Ok. But you could have all those things without suger-snot eggs. I mean commercialism could pump it's energy into promoting something that is actually worth consuming. And while we're celebrating "Mother Nature shaking the dust of a long winter’s sleep" maybe we could choose something other than a genetic anomaly that spurts out chocolate eggs.
Also. Foil wrapping isn't very Mother Nature friendly. And the commercial system isn't either. They're not thinking, "Hey guys you know what, we were gonna give up on those cream eggs, but nobody would go out and celebrate the joy of birth and spring." In fact I think it goes more like, "Oh-ho! Money! Money! Moneymoneymoneymoney! Weee!"
#1) don't talk to me of snot and mucus. i'm a NURSE. I have seen more variety of bodily fluids than you have probably ever imagined. In fact, i have even seen some cream egg-like emesis (puke).
#2) i think it is good to feel passionately about something. but gareth, your fervour is starting to remind me of this grumpy old man that i had to care for this week. *shudder*. and it also makes me think "coronary". and y'all should know by now how i feel about Cardiacs.
#3) excevellent (that IS a word. Its MY word) points have been made re: commercialism (which i despise) and Mother Nature (which i do not despise). Sometimes we need a little bit of commercialistic (i made that word up, clearly) tradition to keep us from falling into funks. especially us old spinsters.
QP: My Cadbury Creme Egg post was not meant to be contemptuous of the eggs! I love them, and I thought you knew that! That's why it began "Miraculously, I have not yet been maimed..." -- it is miraculous because I eat so many of them that you'd think I'd be the one getting injured by the hard pieces of plastic buried within. I am, however, a purist when it comes to Creme Eggs; I like the original flavour, and don't bother with the maple/cafe/caramel ones (as much as I love maple and caramel in other chocolatey settings).
